Discussion of diabetes management in day to day life

OT/ Season's Greetings

Posting seperately on asd, asduk, mhd.

Hi all you wonderful people.

I get to be first with the Season’s greetings because I’m off on Thurday
on our annual walkabout to the deep South (Melbourne:-) to see the
family and friends we left down there.

I’m packing up the office, and I’m not sure how long I’ll have access to
the computer – maybe a day or two more.

So, pick the one that suits – Merry Christmas, a wonderful Chanukah,
Happy New Year; if I’ve missed someone in there – be happy anyway:-)

I offer my sincerest thanks to all the people on the newsgroups who have
helped me learn and given me support during this year. I wish you all,
posters, lurkers, even the trolls, a wonderful, prosperous and above all
healthy New Year.

Back sometime in January – Au Revoir :-)

Cheers, Alan, T2 d&e, Australia.

500 calories a day under reporting? How likely is that? I use fitday, and on
days when I log, try to get absolutely everything in – including that extra
bite. Am I kidding myself by that large a margin?

It doesn’t sound like it.  But your approach is not "typical".  Most
people do not measure their intake – they guess, and they usually
guess that they are eating less than they actually are.  They may
believe that a "helping" is what they are used to eating rather than
admitting to themselves that they have eaten "1.5 helpings" or even "2
    helpings" all their life.
