Discussion of diabetes management in day to day life

medijector

on the question of insulin injectors, I used one several years ago, for
about a year.  As far as comfort went, it hurt about the same as a regular
syringe, the difference being that a needle felt like a needle, the injector
felt like something punched me in the leg/abdomen.

The claimed advantage was improved absorption of the insulin,  I cannot
really comment on this.

The problem I had with the medijector was that, 1) insulin was getting by
the piston in the injector, and 2) the spring that powered the injector
apparently was not rust resistent,  This resulted in a rusted spring that
ground against the sides of the medijector.  The spring eventuall rusted to
the point that it would no longer inject properly.  I have been using
regular syringes now for several years since I stopped using the medijector.

This problem may have been fixed since then.  but I’d ask first before
buying one.

your mileage may vary. . .
