Has anyone tried the new Softclix lancing device from boehringer
mannheim? It is a wonderful device that lets you dial the depth that the
lancet goes in. I’m not sure they are on the market everywhere, but I
got a prototype from my pharmacist. If anyone has seen or used one, let
me know what you think.

Hallo!
If it’s the sort I think it is, I have tried it. But I have got one for a few
years right now. I think it’s the best I’ve ever tried but hopefully They can
make it even better, some of he lancets aren’t good.

Both my kids have been using the softclix lancets for some time.
When we switched they claimed that the softclix was less painfully than
our old lancets.
Their fingers also seem to be taking less of a beating ( or maybe their
just getting bigger ?)
One note: watch what you are doing when you load the lancet. Occasionally
you will get a bad one in which the steel will slide part way out of the
plastic when you twist the end off. ( approx. one every
couple hundred.)

Yes. I have been using the softclix for almost a year now. No more sore finger
tips, no more trying to recover my finger after it has been impaled on the
table. If there has to be something which is the next best thing to "sliced
bread" this is it. The footprint that the lancets leave is minute and the
penetration as stated can be adjusted. They don’t seem to work on a spring
action, although I am not prepared to break mine apart to check. A small tip if
you are not already aware. Wait for a few seconds after pricking your finger
before trying to obtain a sample the blood flows more readily.
The other alternative is using B+D’s lancers they are really fine and fit most
other finger pricker devices.
Hope this helps.
Alan.

Yes, I have been using one for almost a year now. With great results. I can
even play the guitar now, mind you I couldn’t before! Seriously it is What I
feel to be the best thing since sliced bread. It doesn’t seem to work from a
spring action although I am not inclined to rip it assunder to find out, and it
certainly doesn’t impale your finger to the table. The footprint of the lancet
is so small. One tip that I have also learnt is to hold back a few seconds
after the initial stab and then press to produce blood it flows a lot easier.
Hope this is useful to all. Happy New Year.

Yes, I have been using one of these devices for almost a year now with great
success. At last a finger pricker that doesn’t impale fingers to the table.
The footprint of the lancet is minute yet never fails to draw a good droplet. If
anything qualifies for the title ‘best thing since sliced bread’ I think this is
it. Just a tip, once you have pricked your finger hold back for a second or
five or so before you start torturing yourself, it helps to produce a droplet a
lot easier. I can now play the guitar? Mind you I couldn’t before!. Hope this
was useful. Happy New Year to all!!!!
