It is the toughest holiday, isn’t it? (especially when you have to cook
everything you can’t even eat!) Makes me feel worse for kids with
diabetes.

This was the first year my 8 year old was on the pump. THANKSGIVING WAS
A BREEZE. My little pumper was able to eat what he wanted, when he
wanted, and maintained excellent blood sugars until he started running
around like an 8 year old and went a bit low. HOLIDAYS ARE GREAT AGAIN.
This year, I am thankful for his wonderful pediatric endocrinologist who
encouraged us to pursue pump therapy and make all of our lives so much
more normal. Since before his diagnosis at age 15 months, this was the
best Thanksgiving ever.

Hi, John!
I’m just curious how you came up with the magic number of 40. Did you
have some basis to calculate it, or did you just think that it sounded
like a nice number?
Me, I thought I was really stoking up when I took 15! But I really
enjoyed the meal!
