how fast does it work for you?  how fast do you want to work for you?
are you taking any anti resistance meds?

Yes.  I use the faster-acting insulin for meals, and to
correct highs.  I do not think it fast enough.

I’m a type 2 also.  I use fast insulin in my pump, and I agree with Herman,
ITS NOT FAST ENOUGH.

The modern ultra-rapid insulins Humalog,  Novolog and Apidra are routinely
prescribed for Type 2 diabetics for before-meal use.     So are the older
and slower "rapid" insulins like Insulin R,   Actarapid,  etc.

Type 2 diabetics probably consume most of the ultra-rapid and "rapid’
insulin production.    (AFAIK,  they use 80% of all insulin produced but I
don’t know how that breaks down by type)

However:

   a.  The modern ultra-rapid insulins cost over twice as much as the older
"rapid" insulins

   b.  Some docs are nervous about using such powerful insulins with certain
types of patient,   i.e.  many docs would rather many of their patients
face the risk of high blood sugars rather then the risk of a low or a hypo.

Speaking as a patient who has used both,  I vote for the ultra-rapid.   (If
I could vote twice,  I would).

 It might seem from a superficial look at their properties that the modern
ultra-rapid insulins are more difficult to use but my experience is that
they are easier to use. . . . if by the word "use" you mean "use to generate
healthy blood sugars in diabetics".
