BD link meter

HI all,
Does anyone have any advice on the BD Logic (link) meter in regards to it`s
accuracy. I recieved mine a few weeks ago and have had it replaced once
because I didn`t feel the readings were accurate in comparison to my
Freestyle mini  (flash in the US) Though control soulution tests on both
meters were in the correct range.
Any stories bad or good?  thanks mike in Canada

I tested it against 2 meters -Lifescan Ultra & Accutek – and it seems fine.

    Mike,

I am not familiar with the Logic meter, but the BD Paradigm Link
meter is worthless. I don’t know if the poor design of the meter
is the reason for BD’s customer service to be equally bad, but I
have been through at least 4 of these meters, and the results have
been that I will not trust BD for anything ever again.

The strips consistently errored out. The percentage of waste
varied from 25%-75%. Imagine having to poke 4-5 holes in your
finger to get a single test reading.

The readings varied wildly compared to my other meters. My other
meters, however, confirmed how I felt, and how I expected the
    readings to be.

The only positive thing I could say about the BD was that the
erroneous reading came up in a very fast 5 seconds.

    HI Steve,
The readings from the BD meter seem to be wildly inaccurate. Often two tests
done with the same blood sample would be 5 or 6 mmols different . While the
Freestyle would be perhaps a few pts different. Given this was the case with
both meters that BD has sent me I have choosen to go back to the freestyle
and manually enter the result. It`s more a case I think of feeling
    comfortable with
the Freestyle. Perhaps I just had some bad luck so I hope your BD works well
for you I like the concept but again I feel uncomfortable with the accuracy.
Where in Canada Steve. I am in  Hamilton.

I find you really have to make sure the blood sample for sucked into the
strip or you get wildly inacurrate readings.

Well I guess we are almost nieghbours then.  Interesting that this topic
should come up now. AT our next Insulin Pump Support group meeting we are
having the rep from BD Canada as a speaker. We have a support group in
Hamilton affiliated with Insulin Pumpers Canada
http://www.insulin-pumpers.ca/. Some interesting stuff on the site., and as
always anyone is welcome at our meetings.   mike
