Diabetics Management Software

Hi,

I just downloaded the trial version of a program called DiabeticPIM
for my pocket pc and it seems to be comprehensive. Has anyone
used this software before? Any tips or suggestions?

Are there any other similar products that you recommend?

Help – Tummy Problem + Insulin Resistance

Hello to all!

I am at the middle of my twenties and my fasting glucose is OK. However, I
have borderline symptoms of the metabolic syndrome.

I added vegetables to my diet and by that alone I manged to get down from
185 pounds to 162… I keep going down, just lost my hunger!

However, my triglycerides around still 150, HDL 40, and worst yet – I now
have a disproportionally big tummy (37"), as my wasit is the same, getting
my Waist:Hip ratio to 1. I look thin with a large proturding gut. Not
something nice to my age or any age at all )-:

I have tried Glucopahge before but it didn’t do much to my tummy, though my
blood chem got fine. Maybe I gave it too short a try.

I ‘ve read research showing Avandia thickens the waist but Glucophage
(metformain) doesn’t.

I want to know if there is any chance that Avandia will get me rid of my
tummy better than Glucopage. I don’t worry from weight gain since I am
losing it so easily…

What do you people say?
Thank’s a lot for the advice!

Jimmy

Nail biting

Is nail biting associated with diabetes? All my life I’ve been biting my
nails, but when I went on low carb diet, had long periods of time, when I
was not doing it. I even had periods, I had to trim my nails, grow so long.

Thanks, JS

Law & Order: Crime and Punishment.

Tonight they had a con man as one of the defendents.
Turns out one of the things that he conned ( as a grief counselor
I think ) was selling people pills that cured diabetes.
They didn’t say what the pills were but did say that it
was something harmfull to diabetics.

Turns out that for most people the suplement is safe. But
if have some degree of renal failure the suplement stays in
your blood and turns toxic. I don’t think they said what it
was, if they did I missed it.

Pear Drops

I asked a friend of mine, who works as a Perfumer, about the smell of Pear
Drops.  He said it smells like Acetone, and that this smell was used to
diagnose Diabetes when he was young.

Acetone makes sense to me, I’m sure that is some form of byproduct of
Ketoacidosis.  But that’s all the information I have,
