Gray cloud left eye

Two days ago, I noticed a small gray cloud in what I see with my left
eye.  I see it only when I cover my right eye.  Don’t know how long it
has been there.

Anyone know what it might be?

I’m going to call my ophthalmologist tomorrow for an appointment.

Curves Gym

Have any of you ladies tried Curves Gym? It is a gym for women only and they
have a 30 minute workout. I have not visited yet. Thought I would ask you
first. Doc told me to get into a good exercise program. Maybe something
structured is what I need. <VBG> Betty,.

Lantus and Arthralgias (body pain)

I have been using Lantus for the past three months while in other
countries and now here.  I have had severe body pain especially low back
with Sciatic involvement.  Pain in the buttocks and down the leg to the
ankle with severe oedema.  The swelling is becoming less with the
elimination of Lantus and several days use of Bumex.
Walking is very difficult and I actually have almost ataxic movements.
Stopped this Insulin for three days and much of the problem has
resolved.  I also have FM but now have very limited range of motion in
extremities.
I am in PT and have been advised to use the pool and Jacuzzi but I
hate being in water other than a shower.
How about the use of a Gazelle?  Anyone have one and used it
successfully.  It is used by many of the spinal institutes for a walking
like exercise with no joint compression.
I will be exchanging my Tunturi exercycle for another type with an
upright seat position as this backward extension hurts more that it does
good.
Really don’t want to go back on the pump while traveling as it is so
inconvenient but then I don’t need Lantus.

   Thanks,
   Quilty

Spliting doses of Humalog?

I am interested in any information on
splitting the Humalog dose and multiple
injections.   If a dose was split the
surface area of the total dose would
be larger. Would this alter the time
curves for an injection.

Newly Diagnosed Type II and Neuropathy in Feet. Help!

Hello All,
In early May I went to an MD after suffering from foot numbness and pain
for the previous 6 to 8 months.  I had blood drawn, an MRI and an EMG/NCS.
The MRI was fine but my fasting BG was 148 and A1C was 7.0 and the EMG
showed ‘mild neuropathy’.  A vascular test showed good circulation.
I started Metformin at 2 x 500 mg.

I saw a dietician and tightened up the South Beach Diet that I had already
started last February ie I am now restricting the carbs a bit more than
before.  I peaked at 235 lb. and I am now at about 200 lb (i am a 48 year
old 6’3" male).  I had been a heavy beer drinker but I quit drinking when
I started the diet in February.

After some initial trial and error my BG is now under control.  I often
test under 100 with very few spikes above 130 after meals.  I took a home
A1C test last week and scored a 5.4%

My feet seem to be getting worse though.  Actually, I have some good days
and then it slips to the point where the tingling and pain is up to my
ankles.   I have been taking ALA and Evening Primrose for the last month
and I have had 5 sessions with an acupuncturist.  I also walk and/or bike
every day.

I have been feeling very depressed especially on those days when my feet
are acting up.  I have seen on the web that this condition can only get
worse and cannot be reversed.  I also have read that some reversal can
happen if you catch it early and that you sometimes feel worse before
noticing improvement.
Is there anyone out there who has had success?  Should I show more
patience and not necessarily expect great immediate improvement?  It just
seems that I’m losing the fight here.
Thanks for helping!

Medtronics latest Paradigm letter

well the water proof Paradigm that we all received a letter last Sept
stating it was NOT WATER PROOF has come up with a new game.

they are sending out letters reminding us that summer is here and NOT to
get it wet
or it could shut down.
<i have gone through 2>
they want you to sign the letter and mail it back.

seems to me they are getting tired of sending out replacement pumps.

by signing the letter and sending it back you won’t get a replacement if
it fails because you were told not to get it wet.

my law suit is almost over with them and they are having to refund
almost 100% of my money.
thank god for Lantus

what ever you do don’t send the letter back!

Suggestion for health insurance

Hi.

I need to obtain health insurance as my current coverage is running
out end of June.

I live in California.  I’m 55.  Unemployed.

Type II diabetic.  Taking Actos, Lisinopril, and Lipitor.  I think
I’m in pretty good shape though I’m 6’1" and about 230lbs.  The meds
actually made me gain weight.  I’m a large man so I’m really not
that overweight.  If I weighed 200 I’d be skinny.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
