Hi,

I saw discussion of something called Sofclix from a company called
something-Berringer… all I saw in the newsgroup was people saying
how much better their kids liked it.

When I went back to get the company name, the notes had rolled off my
news server and there doesn’t appear to be an archive.

I called our local diabetic supply Mecca and they had never heard of
it.  Could someone please post where can I get more information?

I’ve been trying to get my BG’s under control.  As a result
I have been reading lots of food labels.

On Sunday my wife showed me two slices of bread from
two different packs (same brand, same product).  One
was about 50% bigger than the other.

So we purchased another loaf, and weighed it.  The
label said 12oz (340 gm) and that each slice has
15 gm of CHO.  It ACTUALLY weighed 550 grams (about
19 Oz).

My real question is just how much CHO is in each slice
of bread?  I am going to try to call the company, but
does anybody know what fedral rules may apply to this
set up?

        Quite some time ago, someone posted a message about the
        issue of "Diabetes Metabolism Reviews," 1995; 11(3) issue
        on "Neuropathy."  I’ve been unable to locate a copy in any
        of the San Francisco area medical libraries.  Does anyone
        know how I can receive this material?

some months ago i read about a new method in diabetes therapy. the trick
was the injection of insulin producing cells (derived from a non-diabetic
donor´s pancreas by centrifugation(?)) to the patient´s pancreas. these
cells were descibed to be active in insulin production for some
weeks/months in the acceptor´s pancreas.
unfortunately i´m not able to find this paper again. has anybody
informations on this method? is this method in an academic research state
or is it ready for use in (special equipped?) hospitals?

I just found a pump FAQ at rtfm.mit.edu.  It is supposed to
be posted here every 2 weeks.

I have been reading this news group for 6 months, and have
never seen it!

If you have been reading for 3 months or more, and have never

Well there I was driving 60 mph across the bridge and I was either having
 a massive anxiety attack or I was low sugar ….with my wife (she hates
 my driving when my BG’s are normal) poised to take the wheel I’m thinking
gee I’d rather have a low BG than an anxiety attack ( I know confusion is
a sign of lows) well I was begining to sweat bullets (even sweating inside
my ear !!! pretty sight eh ??) I start loading up on the sugar as I start
to fight the feeling of completely fading out. By now I am really scared
and wished it was a anxiety attack. I finally was able to pull over, the
sugar was kicking in and I was coming back into focus. Well another
diabetic first under my belt and I am completely focused on my disease
once again.
